About
Michelle Calder is a Nova Scotian, HRM-based indie folk-pop singer-songwriter, who's been writing songs for over 27 years. As an avid hiker/outdoorsy person, she loves writing songs that feature elements of nature, travel and adventure, while leading listeners through relatable experiences of love and loss. Fun fact: many of the lyrics written for her Wanderlust EP and for the upcoming album were written from the trunk of her car, as she car-camped out on solo adventures throughout the Canadian maritime provinces.

In her singing career, she's been a backup singer in a classic rock cover band, a studio harmony backer for various recording artists, a musical theatre thespian, (which is where she got her start at age 7!), a professional Christmas caroller, a wedding singer, a funeral soloist, a church choir member (for 21 years!), and a music director at a Catholic church. She's sung in bars, malls, concert halls, forums, museums, hotels, sooooo many churches, street corners, and even standing on a moving parade float. All of this... but nothing actually recorded for her own release... that is, until the summer of 2023 when she released her first single, "Stay"

With four singles and her first EP "Wanderlust" now out, and her first LP coming in 2025, Michelle is most certainly an emerging artist to watch out for!
