"Stay"

This song came about after I approached my guitar teacher/longtime friend Scott Macdonald with a pile of lyrics that I'd been sitting on, and wanted to hear what guitar melodies he might magic up, as my guitar skills were still pretty rudimentary at that point, and he was a whiz with the fingerpicking style that I love so much. The lyrics were originally written by myself in 2020, and later honed in studio in 2022.

Funny story actually... the first line of the original lyrics used to say: "the smell of you is still in my hair." I'd written that after a real life encounter, and was referencing catching a whiff of the gentleman's cologne when my hair had fallen in my face as I gently sat up in bed that next morning. Took a little bit of finessing the lyrics to get my original point across, but not before I'd sent the lyrics to the fella, (who I remain on good terms with), and his only response was... "sorry about the smell" with an embarrassed-face and laughing-face emoji... hahahaha
